Apprenticeship Program

Our Apprenticeship Program, in collaboration with the Arizona Builders Alliance, sponsors selected apprentices through a comprehensive 4-year initiative. The program involves on-the-job training (OJT) with apprentices working full-time for a contractor in their respective trade. Apprentices are required to log 2,000 hours per year into an online database, with a total of 8,000 hours needed for graduation.

The program’s curriculum covers a range of topics over the four years, including:

  • Basic Safety/OSHA 10
  • Hand & Power Tools
  • Rigging
  • Math for Electricians
  • Introduction to Blueprint and Electrical Level 1
  • Alternating Current and Motors
  • Grounding and Boxes & Fittings
  • Conduit Bending
  • Conductor Installations
  • Electrical Services and Cable Tray Installation
  • Load Calculations and Conductors
  • Over-current Protection
  • Raceways, Fittings & Fill Requirements
  • Distribution Equipment & Transformers
  • Motors, Motor Controls, and Hazardous Locations
  • Load Calculations and Branch Feeders
  • Transformers & Standby Systems
  • Lighting Applications
  • Electronics Theory and Fire Alarm Systems
  • Advanced Controls, Motor Maintenance, HVAC Controls, High Voltage Splices
